Lydia & Robert | Urban Winery Sydney
Yet another wedding where the original date, and even location were met with the pandemics constraints. I tip my hat to couples like Lydia & Robert who with resilience, patience and humour push on in the face of adversity to get here, finally! I first met Lydia at her apartment in the outer suburbs of Sydney, along with her mum and bridesmaid Louise. We shared some tears, had a laugh or two, did some bean bag bombs before snapping some gorgeous shots in and around the apartment complex. I then left to meet Robert at his family home 10 mins down the road. Robert was all ready suited up and ready to go! All of the important people were there supporting and surrounding him and we captured that unassailable and obvious bond.
After navigating Sydney’s incredibly convoluted roads, we made it to the last stop at the Urban Winery for a very emotional and heartfelt celebration of the two lovers. The highlight being a “oops there goes gravity” moment for Lydia who became so overwhelmed she needed to sit down. Checking in with Lydia, Robert too summoned a chair to sit on and they continued on with the ceremony. It was the perfect reaction to an unscripted moment and they continued to sit hand in hand until standing for the first kiss! The celebrations continued well into the evening with their family and friends getting around the couple and sharing the love, laughs and joy the couple so deserved.
Fun facts;
Previous to Lydia & Roberts big day, I had already met Lydia photographing her sister and brothers weddings, and Robert at the latter.
That’s not real champagne Lydia’s drinking, she was pregnant!!
Lydia & Robert are both Osteo’s. The week before I photographed Mandy & Chris’s wedding, who also were both Osteo’s!
