Bianca & Joel | Cleveland Estate
Elegant. Moody. Classic. Just a few words that come to mind when trying to sum up Bianca & Joel’s epic wedding day! Because every wedding has its own unique vibe, and lucky for me on this occasion we were all in sync! That’s because what B & J laid down for me as their “brief” I kinda was aiming for anyway….which made the day a dream! Lancefield’s “Cleveland Estate”, in particular the grand old homestead, helped to manifest that elegant, classic and moody brief we were aiming for with its bold and contrasting interior. Under one roof but separated by doors and walls, Bianca & Joel had a timer ticking down to 2pm, to shake off the nerves and have their first look. So it was a buzz when I arrived, both camps still having to dress, a cheeky whisky for Joels camp while Bianca’s camp were enjoying some tunes and collectively helping each other dress, but not in a manic way! It actually was pretty chill. A bit after 2pm, Joel and Bianca now in the same room laid their eyes on each other and it was electric! A classic and timeless tux for Joel while Bianca’s gown was just something else with a salute to “those” Kylie Minogue hotpants! With everyone looking like they were off the set of Sopranos, we utilised the homestead and the sparing minutes we had to create a selection of possible album covers before emerging into the heat and down to the vineyards where almost everyone was hiding from the sun in any pocket of shade they could find! One by one, our 10 strong bridal party gathered in the vines followed by our bride and groom, both walked down by their folks. Celebrant Ruby had everyone organised from the get go and officiated a very honest and emotional celebration of love between these two rockstars. And it was done in a hurry, not because it wasn’t any less important than the rest of the day but because when it’s that hot and there’s no shade you have to hustle! Which meant the drinks flowed and the party started almost immediately after rose petals rained down and Bianca & Joel became Mr & Mrs and sprinted into the shade. Soon the sun was on the horizon, and Bianca & Joel took the moment to take some time for themselves to see an amazing sunset while gathering their composure for the night’s celebrations. And to just take a little minute to realise that they had finally done it!
